TVC Women Staytreat 2019

A Day of Word, Worship, Witness & Withness

More than 160 ladies gathered at the 2019 TVC Women’s Staytreat on July 27th. We spent the day focusing on how to delight, desire and depend on the Word. Because we place a high value on the study of the Scripture at TVC, the entire day was centered around encouraging and equipping us to be intentional in our daily study of the Word. The morning began with worship and reminders of why the Bible is trustworthy in a video from Amy Orr Ewing of Ravi Zacharias Ministries. Following the morning session, we went to practical breakout sessions with our women’s study group leaders. Molly Jones guided us through dwelling on the Word in contemplative Bible study, Susan Love stressed the importance of reading the scripture in context in order to not misread or misuse it, and Natalie Walkley provided an instructive time of how to study the Bible verse by verse at home. In the afternoon we spent time being creative together, making necklaces with Wendy Lee Nentwig and adding our own touch to a custom illuminated scripture by Julia Gingerich. The day ended in a beautiful time of worship and hearing from Kim Thomas in a study of Psalm 119. Kim encouraged us to press on in the daily discipline of studying the Word, so that we might say with the psalmist, “Therefore I love your commandments above gold, above fine gold.”

We hope you will join us at one of our women’s study groups this Fall, where you can continue to study and fellowship with other women at TVC. Find more details at women.thevillagechapel.com.
