Led by Mel and Sandy Smith, our 50s+ group will continue meeting each Sunday morning during the 8:30 am hour in the Family Room. This vibrant, growing community will host their quarterly potluck on Sunday, September 1 also at 8:30. Even if you’ve never joined before, you are welcome to bring a dish and meet others from the group.
We’re excited to launch the upcoming 30s and 40s Sunday Morning Group. This group will be led by Jan and Mickey Harlow with Jake and Caroline Smith and will meet Sunday mornings at 8:30 am in the Living Room at our Hillsboro Village Campus starting September 15. For those established in their careers, starting families or simply looking to grow alongside those in this age group, we hope you join us.
The college years can be a pivotal time in the life of a young person so it’s crucial to find community to walk alongside during this ever-changing season. Our College-Age Ministry is led by Jonathan Harrell and Kelly Richardson and meets every Sunday at 11:30 am beginning September 8 in the Living Room at the Hillsboro Village Campus. We’ll be exploring the topic of “Why Religion?” in the season kick-off of our “Biblical Thinking Series: The Big Whys” monthly series. Led by Josh Pardy, we’ll be diving into life’s challenging questions, featuring videos from the Zacharias Trust Foundation. Calling all TVC Kids! We’re looking forward to STOMP hosted by the TVC Kids Worship Arts as part of our First Wednesdays series. Kids will meet on September 4 at 6 pm in the Living Room at the Hillsboro Village Campus for an evening of praising our Lord through musical worship. Parents will be invited to watch the performance at 7:30 pm immediately following Biblical Thinking: The Big Whys. STOMP is a great opportunity for TVC Kids to invite their friends for a great night of worship!
As we look forward to the leaves turning and a crisp breeze in the air, we’ll be kicking off a new season of our “First Wednesdays” series this fall! Join us at the Hillsboro Village Campus on September 4 for an evening for congregants of all ages. Our Biblical Thinking: The Big Whys series will gather at 6:30 pm in the Living Room. We’ll be diving into life’s challenging questions, with videos from the Zacharias Trust Foundation, followed by a discussion led by Josh Pardy. The TVC Kids Worship Arts will be hosting the family favorite STOMP at 6 pm in the Living Room while the Youth Group continue to meet in the Attic.
With so many students already back in school, TVC Youth has also begun their fall semester. Sunday Small Groups have resumed with 5th-12th graders meeting at 8:30 am in the Meeting Room at our East Nashville Campus and 6th-8th graders meeting at 11:30 am in the Attic at the Hillsboro Village Campus. All students from 6th to 12th grade are invited to Youth Group each Wednesday from 6-8 pm at the Hillsboro Village Campus in the Attic. Moms and Dads, make a note to join us during Youth Group on August 21 in the Family Room at the Hillsboro Village Campus for our monthly Parents Meeting to learn more about current Youth happenings and ask any questions. As part of our mission to equip congregants in all stages of life, from time to time we offer The Meaning of Marriage class based on the popular book by Tim Keller. We will be hosting this six week class led by Jeff and Molly Jones beginning Sunday, September 8 at 10 am in The Living Room at the Hillsboro Village Campus. Whether you’re engaged, newly married or have been married for many years, this class will be a rich time of learning and discussion. The book is $15 (or you are welcome to bring your own copy). Weaving together the story of his life, the culture and recipients of his letters, our new Sunday School explores “The Prayers of Paul”. Led by Wayne Hastings and Julie Sumner, this Sunday School will focus on understanding the Apostle Paul’s background, training and mission. Each week we will study the types of prayers he prayed and also learn how to effectively deepen our own prayer lives. This 8-week class will meet during the 10 am hour in the Bonus Room at the Hillsboro Village Campus beginning September 8. No registration required!
As our fall semester begins, we are looking forward to launching our new 20s Sunday Morning Group beginning September 8 at 11:30 am in the Bonus Room at the Hillsboro Village Campus. This Sunday Morning Group will be led by TVCers Kevin & Kelly Rudd and will focus on growing the faith of attendees in their 20s. For attendees in theirs 20s or those navigating their career, just out of college or in grad school searching for a community of fellow believers, join us on Sunday mornings. Because dealing with the loss of a loved one can feel like a unique and sometimes isolating experience, we’d like to invite you to join our GriefShare group this fall at The Village Chapel. This group will meet for twelve weeks beginning on Tuesday, September 10 at 6 pm in the Bonus Room at our Hillsboro Village Campus. This group will listen to video interviews with experts, hear and share stories with one another during group discussions and, most importantly, focus on drawing near to God as He guides each individual on their personal journey.
There is a $25 for course materials which includes the class workbook that participants will keep.
If you have a heart for international missions and serving those in need or if you’d like the opportunity to meet your sponsored child and learn about his/her community, we would love to invite you to our Guatemala Missions Trip Interest Meeting. We are planning a trip for July 2020 to serve some of the communities where TVCers sponsor more than 250+ children. Coming to the meeting does not commit you to the trip and simply allows us to share more details and the vision for the trip.
