Christmas Season Preview

It truly is the most wonderful time of the year and we’re looking ahead to December with great joy and anticipation. As we begin to plan for a month that is often exceptionally busy for so many, there are some important dates and events at The Village Chapel that you can add to your calendars. Our Advent Sunday morning teaching series will begin on December 1 as we explore “The Story of Christmas: Genesis to Revelation” at all services at both campuses. We’ll also introduce a special Advent kid’s series during the 10:15 am service at the East Nashville Campus also beginning on December 1. Our annual Christmas Market will take place on Friday, December 6 in the Chapel at the Hillsboro Village from 5-9 pm. This is a wonderful event to invite friends and neighbors to as we seek to open our doors to the Nashville community. We’ll also conclude the month with our candlelight Christmas Eve services at 4 pm, 5:30 pm, or 7 pm at the Hillsboro Village campus or 5 pm at the East Nashville Campus. Visit christmas.thevillagechapel.com for a full Christmas schedule this holiday season.

Join Our Christmas Choir

Calling all vocalists! As part of the Advent season at The Village Chapel, our Christmas Choir will be leading us in worship on Sunday, December 8 at each of our three morning services at our Hillsboro Village Campus. If you have a passion for and ability to sing, we would love to have you join our Christmas choir for a morning of worship, featuring some of the beautiful carols of the season! We’ll meet together for rehearsals on November 14 and 21 as well as December 5. For more information, email [email protected].

Save The Date: Christmas Market

Mark your calendars for Friday, December 6 from 5 – 9 pm for our annual Christmas Market! Stay tuned for more details…

Hymn Sing

Join us as we welcome the Christmas season with a special Advent-themed Hymn Sing on November 17 at 6 pm in the Chapel at our Hillsboro Village Campus. We will sing together some of the most beloved and well-known Christmas carols, and perhaps a few that we’ll learn for the first time. We’ll also hear some of the stories behind a few of these rich Christmas hymns, including a celebration of the 300th anniversary of the publishing of “Joy To The World”. Come join the TVC family as we kick-off the season, celebrating the birth of our Savior. Nursery and Preschool childcare will be provided by reservation. Reserve childcare below.

Christmas Missions Project

As we approach the holiday season and look forward to reflecting on the birth of our Savior, we also find ourselves in a season where there are countless opportunities to serve those in need. We invite you to join us in our Christmas Missions Project, an easy and practical way to provide essentials and gifts to those in need right here in our own city. As you prayerfully consider participating in this project, you’ll be able to select from items at various price points to benefit one of the organizations and ministries we partner with all year long. Simply stop by the Christmas Missions Project table at either of our campuses on any Sunday morning during the month of November or learn more on our Missions Page.

Art Show – Pam Hastings

Nashville is home to a wealth of creative talent and we love to feature work from TVC’s own artist in our Gallery from time-to-time. Our current art show features the work of Pam Hastings called “In The Garden”. Pam’s hope is that her art exposes people to the beauty and intimate detail of God’s creation through landscapes, animals and exquisitely delicate roses.

The Gallery is located in the Living Room at the Hillsboro Village Campus.

Sunday Small Groups and Sunday Schools

No matter your age or stage of life, it’s important that as believers we find community we can grow with and learn alongside. That is why this September, we will be offering several new Sunday Small Groups hosted at our Hillsboro Village Campus focused on life decades and/or experience. No matter your season of life, you’ll be able to find a group focused on growing in your faith and strengthening relationships with those in our church.

Our College-Age Group (led by Jonathan Harrell and Kelly Richardson) resumed their Sunday morning meetings at 11:30 in the Living Room focused on a study called Real God. The new 20s Sunday Small Group led by Kevin and Kelly Rudd will also meet on Sundays at 11:30 am in the Bonus Room. Whether you’re single or married, this class welcomes those in their 20s, starting their career, just out of college or in grad school searching for a community of fellow believers.

We’re also excited to launch the upcoming 30s and 40s Sunday Small Group. This group is led by Jan and Mickey Harlow with Jake and Caroline Smith and will meet Sunday mornings at 8:30 am in the Living Room starting September 15. For those established in their careers, starting families or simply looking to grow alongside those in this age group, we hope you join us.

Led by Mel and Sandy Smith, our 50s+ group will continue meeting each Sunday morning during the 8:30 am hour in the Family Room.

Our new “The Prayers of Paul” Sunday School class will focus on understanding the Apostle Paul’s background, training and mission. Each week we will study the types of prayers he prayed and also learn how to effectively deepen our own prayer lives. This 8-week class will meet during the 10 am hour in the Bonus Room at the Hillsboro Village Campus beginning September 8.

We’re also offering The Meaning of Marriage (based on the popular book by Tim Keller). This six week class is led by Jeff and Molly Jones at 10 am on Sunday mornings in the Living Room at the Hillsboro Village Campus. Whether you’re engaged, newly married or have been married for many years, this class will be a rich time of learning and discussion.
