Good Friday at The Village Chapel

Our Good Friday services have become a special tradition over the years as we reflect on the ultimate sacrifice made by our Savior. These silent services include a time of reflection and prayer. We are grateful to be able to offer services at our Hillsboro Village Campus as well as on TVC Online.

We are hosting a unique and meaningful Drive-In Service at the Hillsboro Village Campus beginning at 7:30pm on April 2. Space is limited, so be sure to RSVP below. Additional details and instructions will be emailed to you the week of the service.

For those who prefer, please join us at 7:30pm on TVC Online for a special Good Friday service. One of the most moving moments of our Good Friday services each year is when we take our nails to the cross as a reminder of our sin that put our Savior there. We encourage you to re-create this tradition from your own home in a way unique and special to your family with nails and wood, or similar materials you are able to locate.

You can RSVP for the Drive-In Service below.

Friday Night Chats: Psalms with English Poet Malcolm Guite

We invite you to join us for our next Friday Night Chats with English poet Malcolm Guite as he shares his new book David’s Crown: Sounding the Psalm. Malcolm will discuss with Pastor Jim and our Curate Kim how, “The Psalms express every human emotion with disarming honesty, as anger and thankfulness alike are directed at God. All of life is here with its moments of beauty and its times of despair and shame.”

Throughout his career, Malcolm has published poetry, theology and literary criticisms. He also currently teaches as part of the Faculty of Divinity at the University of Cambridge as well as lectures widely throughout England and North America on Theology and Literature.

Missions At Home

Thanksgiving Thursdays

The Lord’s Supper has been given to God’s people as a gift, instituted by Jesus with his disciples around the table in the upper room. With thankfulness we remember the sacrifice of Jesus on our behalf as we also anticipate his return to make all things new. Some streams of the Christian faith call this meal the Eucharist, which comes from the Latin eucharistia, which means thanksgiving!

During this season of mandated social distancing, we invite you to gather all of those in your household and join us for Thanksgiving Thursdays, a mid-week Facebook Live Communion service, Thursdays at 6:30 pm. You will want to prepare by having some juice and bread or crackers for our brief 20 minute time together. The TVC Ministry Leadership Team will lead us in this simple but meaningful service that culminates with partaking of the Lord’s Supper.

If you do not have Facebook or prefer to view the service another way, you can join this service at thevillagechapel.com.
