Summer with C.S.

There’s something about a good old-fashioned book club that gives us a sense of wonder and nostalgia. TVC women,  join us for “Summer with C.S” as we dive into some of his most beloved titles. We’ll read The Lion, The Witch and The Wardrobe in June then The Great Divorce in July as we gather online for a discussion. You can follow along with our reading and discussions at Facebook.com/tvcwomen and Instagram.com/tvcwomen or women.thevillagechapel.com.

Exploring the Epochs: A Survey of Church History

Studying Church History is a wonderful tool to remind us of God’s faithfulness and steadfastness from generation to generation. Our new “Exploring the Epochs: A Survey of Church History”class  is a nine-week virtual study of Church History covering First Century AD through present day. We’ll be incorporating “A Survey of Church History” from W. Robert Godfrey by Ligonier Ministries to aid us in our study and discussion. Join us online each Monday evening at 6:30pm as we endeavor to better understand our present through a deeper knowledge of our past. This class will meet via Zoom weekly. Register below.

Burgers & Bibles: Confronting Christianity

Our annual summertime favorite Burgers & Bibles has become a beloved TVC tradition over the years. While we are adapting this year’s program to an online-only format, we invite you to make plans to join us from the comfort of your own home (or backyard!) each Wednesday evening in June at 6:30 pm. We’ll be diving into “Four Hard Questions for the Christian Faith”, based on Rebecca McLaughlin’s popular book Confronting Christianity. Our evenings will consist of teachings by our Ministry Leadership Team based on questions from the book followed by a time of online small group discussion.

Make plans to join us weekly beginning June 3 and watch your inbox each week as we’ll send you a link to stream the teaching and join the discussion the afternoon of the event.

Missions At Home

Many of us are looking for ways to serve our community through this time of “social distancing”. We have compiled a list of projects you can complete with your family from the safety of your own home to serve the missions we support. Learn more here.

Thanksgiving Thursdays

The Lord’s Supper has been given to God’s people as a gift, instituted by Jesus with his disciples around the table in the upper room. With thankfulness we remember the sacrifice of Jesus on our behalf as we also anticipate his return to make all things new. Some streams of the Christian faith call this meal the Eucharist, which comes from the Latin eucharistia, which means thanksgiving!

During this season of mandated social distancing, we invite you to gather all of those in your household and join us for Thanksgiving Thursdays, a mid-week Facebook Live Communion service, Thursdays at 6:30 pm. You will want to prepare by having some juice and bread or crackers for our brief 20 minute time together. The TVC Ministry Leadership Team will lead us in this simple but meaningful service that culminates with partaking of the Lord’s Supper.

If you do not have Facebook or prefer to view the service another way, you can join this service at thevillagechapel.com.

Connect For Virtual Coffee

Connect For Virtual Coffee offers an opportunity for two women or two men to meet virtually one-to-one to walk through life. As our culture shifts and loneliness becomes more pervasive, so does the need to connect within the Body of Christ.  Connect For Virtual Coffee connects older Coffee Hosts with younger Coffee Guests for the purpose of encouraging and nurturing a daily walk of faith. This opportunity is open to those committed to TVC as their home church. Learn more at thevillagechapel.com/coffee.

At Home with TVC: Join Us Exclusively Online

As we continue to exercise caution and discernment in this season out of a spirit of brotherly love and care, we will continue hosting services exclusively online through the next several weeks. Visit thevillagechapel.com or Facebook.com/thevillagechapelnashville at any time on Sunday morning to stream the service from your own home. You can learn more about how to stream our services here

During this time, we have been sharing some new content to continue to keep us united and growing as a congregation. Each morning, Pastor Jim has been sharing brief daily devotions highlighting some of his favorite readings and teachings. You can follow @tvcnashville or @pastorjimtvc on Instagram, or view all of these videos by clicking here. Mrs. Jamie is also sharing daily readings and notes of encouragement for our TVC Kids. Follow @tvckidsnashville on Instagram to view these daily updates.

Our TVC Worship Team has also been sharing a live video every Wednesdays playing some of the hymns we enjoy singing together as a congregation. These videos are featured on our Facebook and Instagram pages as well as our website. You can also continue checking these pages for weekly sermon quotes, Spotify playlists and more. Also, be sure to visit our Groups page to learn more about our ongoing groups that are currently meeting via Zoom at this time.
