Paul reminds us that as followers of Jesus all our familial relationships are tied to our relationship with Christ
Christian holiness includes the idea of living our lives in submission to God and to God ordained authorities, whether in the home with our family or, as citizens or employees. But our first responsibility is always to God’s authority. Paul also teaches that Christians who are in authority must care for and about those in submission to them.
Christian children are to give two things to their parents: v1: Obedience and v2: Honor
