Matthew 6:19-34
Kingdom Ambitions in a Fallen World
Over the last few weeks, in our studies of chapters 5 and 6 in Matthew’s gospel, we’ve looked at both the vertical and horizontal aspects of righteousness – living faithfully in relationship to both God and others. Last week, we studied how Jesus taught his disciples to pray, and what effective prayer looks like.
This week Jesus delves to the very heart of the matter and focuses on applying kingdom principles to our material possessions, and examines those things about which we are most ambitious and most anxious. What we most value, how we view our material possessions and our need for daily sustenance are all affected by the condition and posture of our hearts.
Join Pastor Matt as we study what Jesus has to teach us about reorienting our ambitions in a fallen world.
