Ephesians 6:21-24

Welcome to Timeless Truth with Pastor Jim Thomas. In season 1, Pastor Jim is leading us in a study of Ephesians.  Today’s passage is Ephesians 6:21-24.

“If you could make a list of each person you criticized last week, and a list of each person you encouraged, which would be longer? And what about your closest friends: would they describe you as more fluent in the language of criticism or of encouragement?”
– Matt Smethurst, lead pastor of River City Baptist Church in Richmond, Virginia

“The healthy Christian is not necessarily the extrovert, ebullient Christian, but the Christian who has a sense of God’s presence stamped deep on his soul, who trembles at God’s word, who lets it dwell in him richly by constant meditation upon it, and who tests and reforms his life daily in response to it.”
– J. I. Packer, A Quest for Godliness

“The Son of God became man to enable men to become the sons of God.”
– C. S. Lewis, Mere Christianity

For by grace you have been saved through faith; and that not of yourselves, it is the gift of God; not as a result of works, so that no one may boast. For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand so that we would walk in them.
– Ephesians 2:8-10
