Sermon Notes

1. Jesus is greater than Moses, just as grace is greater than the law.

“For the law was given through Moses; grace and truth came through Jesus Christ.”
John 1:17

2. Jesus is the Son who is faithful over God’s house. You can trust Jesus as God’s Apostle and your High Priest.

3. The evidence we have genuine faith in Christ is continuance.

“The proof of their belonging to the house of Christ was that they remained steadfast to Him to the end of their pilgrimage.”
A. W. Pink

“The question is not about a retention of salvation based upon a persistence of faith but of possession of faith as evidenced by a continuance of faith.”
Kenneth Wuest

“We live in an impatient society and the idea of humble submission, patient waiting and steady perseverance does not make a ready appeal. But the way of Christ was the way of persistent obedience.”
Raymond Brown, The Message of Hebrews

“Of course God does not consider you hopeless. If He did, He would not be moving you to seek Him (and He obviously is)… Continue seeking Him with seriousness. Unless He wanted you, you would not be wanting Him.”
C. S. Lewis, Letters of C. S. Lewis
