The Joyful Freedom of Self-Forgetfulness

C.S. Lewis once said, “If anyone would like to acquire humility, I can, I think, tell him the first step. The first step is to realize that one is proud... If you think you are not conceited, it means you are very conceited indeed.” Most of us can easily think of somebody we know who is fairly humble. But becoming humble ourselves doesn’t sound like it would be very easy at all. And yet, the Bible extols humility as one of the most important characteristics of faith and wisdom. Join Pastor Jim as he takes a few minutes to help us consider what real humility is, how we can nurture humility in our own character and the role humility plays in our walking in the wisdom and the ways of God.
