Freedom’s Promise
Nearly 50 million people are enslaved today! Human trafficking is the fastest growing criminal industry in the world, generating $236 billion USD every year.
Although human trafficking is a phenomenon that impacts every region of the world, Southeast Asia is well-recognized as an international hub. High rates of poverty, combined with a lack of job opportunities, education, and infrastructure, influence many individuals to seek employment opportunities abroad through illegal migration and third-party brokers. Traffickers prey on these vulnerable people groups and, upon arrival, they are unexpectedly forced into slavery. This is why we focus our prevention efforts in Cambodia and Myanmar. By preventing human trafficking in these spots, we can disrupt the entire industry and protect many children and adults from ever experiencing modern slavery.
Our solution is prevention. We equip individuals and communities to stand strong against trafficking. By addressing the root issues of human trafficking through a holistic approach, we provide a system of support to protect families and communities.
