Women’s Retreat 2018

On April 25-28, 120 women from TVC gathered at Camp Widjiwagan for our annual Women’s retreat. We had a beautiful time of fellowship, small group discussion, worship led by Zach and Maggie White and teaching on the topic of contentment from our own fantastic Kim Thomas. This year, we also had four breakout groups on Saturday morning taught by our small group leaders Bethany Batson, Susan Love, Natalie Walkley and Molly Jones. Our sunny afternoon was spent lounging by the lake, making necklaces, snacking, going on walks, bouncing, zip-lining and napping.

The women also lent their talents to creating pieces of art for two Nashville-based Women’s ministries. Hope Clinic for Women will receive 15 art pieces. Women who receive their services earn points for attending classes and pre-natal visits that they can use in the store to purchase things like onesies, diapers and now art for their nurseries!

An additional 25 art pieces will go to the Freedom Recovery Center of The Next Door for the women who have completed the self-defense classes taught by TVC’s own Josh Johnson. These art pieces will be an encouragement to the ladies to keep working hard, to ignore the lies that run on repeat in their heads and to believe the truths of the Gospel — that they are loved and known and cherished by the God of the universe. It was truly a perfectly full weekend that we will all treasure and draw from for a long time.
