“We are sent into the world, like Jesus, to serve.  For this is the natural expression of our love for our neighbors.  We love.  We go.  We serve.”  –John Stott

Missions Highlight

With an impassioned heart for orphans, Village of Hope (VOH) rescues the lives of former child soldiers, sex slaves, child mothers, siblings and other vulnerable orphans impacted by the rippling effects of two decades of Lord’s Resistance Army’s brutalities. Two residential Villages of Hope are safe havens for healing and hope for the future. Their approach is to prepare and inspire VOH’s young men and women to become productive citizens, ethical leaders and beacons for Christ within their communities. During the COVID pandemic, their focus has shifted to provide emergency relief of food, sanitizers, medical care and counseling to VOH orphans who have been sent back to their guardians as a result of the country-wide lockdowns and to other vulnerable orphans in their communities.

At The Village Chapel, we realize the Christian church does not exist merely for itself. We are here first and foremost to glorify God, and then second, to become the arms of Jesus reaching out to a broken and hurting world.

This outreach-minded mission requires two things: words and deeds. The words of the Christian mission proclaim the good news of God’s grace offered in Christ Jesus. The deeds of the Christian mission involve reaching out in love to help the helpless, to bring comfort to the grieving, to bring justice to the oppressed and relief to the poor.

As a church, we live this out by giving away 15 percent of the tithes and offerings we take in to assist worthy organizations in their ongoing work. This means that through your generous financial support of The Village Chapel, you already support dozens of ministries, both local and international. These include a wide range of ministries that focus on the important works of evangelism, justice and mercy.

Compassion Child Sponsorship

Noah LilianandRosa

The Village Chapel has a long history with Compassion International and their child sponsorship program. Shortly after the church began in 2001, we started sponsoring a young girl in Patzicia, Guatemala. Pastor Jim would give regular updates as we watched her grow and eventually graduate from the program. Along the way, as new children entered the program, Compassion would give TVC the first opportunity to make these sponsorship opportunities available to our congregation.

Today, individual TVCers and families sponsor more than 200 children in four villages in the same region of Guatemala, with the addition of San Antonio Nejapa, Santa Apolonia and Las Victorias to our original location of Patzicia.

Missions Trips

At The Village Chapel we realize the Christian church does not exist merely for itself. We exist first and foremost to glorify God and then second, to become the arms of Jesus reaching out to a broken and hurting world. An important way to do this is to extend ourselves to those in need both here at home and around the world. Each year, TVC offers several international and domestic mission trip opportunities. These trips will vary in length, cost and focus of work but they will all give you the opportunity to reach out in love and mercy to people in need and to experience our God in new ways as you see Him work in a setting outside of your normal everyday life. Please take time to pray and consider joining us on one of these trips!
