TVC is committed to loving the poor, the weak and the vulnerable as directed by scripture. When acute local, national and global needs are brought to our attention, we respond as we are able. The plight of more than 65 million refugees in the US and around the world is an ongoing need that has received additional attention lately. The Village Chapel already provides ongoing financial support to several organizations that serve refugee populations here and abroad, but as the crisis grows, we made the decision to provide some additional funding to help trusted organizations who are equipped and on the ground to respond to these special needs.

TVC’s Servant Leadership Council recently voted unanimously to send an additional $30,000 in relief for refugees. Those funds are being divided among the following local, national and international organizations: Siloam Health, Legacy Mission Village, World Relief, International Teams, Samaritan’s Purse and Convoy of Hope. We chose these organizations because we have an ongoing relationship with them and know that they are already doing the work and caring for these vulnerable people. These gifts are coming out of the overall missions’ budget (TVC always sets aside 15 percent off the top of all tithes for missions), and the money is only available thanks to your faithful giving. For those who would like to get personally involved, our Second Saturdays of City Service regularly offer TVCers the opportunities to serve locally with organizations like Siloam Health and Legacy Mission Village, who work with refugees on a daily basis.
