Making Face Masks for Vanderbilt University Medical Center

While VUMC has an adequate supply of personal protective equipment (PPE) currently on hand to protect its employees and patients from COVID-19, cloth masks work well for other circumstances and can help conserve reserves of N95 respirator masks. They will continue to accept donations of cloth masks for the foreseeable future as all patients, visitors and VUMC employees are required to wear a mask while on the Medical Center campus. For instructions about how to make the kind of masks needed and how to donate, please click here.

Men of Valor

Men of Valor is committed to winning men in prison to Jesus Christ and discipling them. Their purpose is to equip them to re-enter society as men of integrity—becoming givers to the community rather than takers. They provide a year long aftercare and re-entry program for men who are released into the discipleship academy. For more information about Men of Valor visit www.men-of-valor.org.

NEEDS: These men need encouragement. We invite you or your child to draw a picture/color a coloring page and/or decorate a card with a favorite Bible verse which could be hung on the wall as a visual reminder/encouragement.

BIRTHDAY CARDS FOR INMATES
Everyone enjoys getting birthday cards. We have the opportunity to send cards to 70 men in the MOV program at Riverbend Maximum Security Institution. A birthday card from you may – or may not – lead to further correspondence. Contact Mission Board member Larry Stone for further information at [email protected]. Due to Covid-19, these men cannot have visitors. A simple birthday card and a word of encouragement from you can bring more joy than you can imagine.

The Next Door

The Next Door serves women in crisis, equipping them for lives of wholeness and hope. They provide services to women impacted by addiction, mental illness, trauma and/or incarceration, etc. They offer outpatient and inpatient services including a residential program and continue in relationship with women through treatment, recovery, re-entry and aftercare. For more information about The Next Door visit www.thenextdoor.org.

NEEDS:
Scripture Cards – As The Next Door women begin their recovery journey, they are in need of encouragement. They love reading scripture, often saying, “This is exactly what I needed to hear!” You can write/decorate scripture verses on index cards for The Next Door to hand out to clients.
Welcome Notes – Every client receives a welcome bag upon her admission into treatment at The Next Door. We invite you to write a sweet welcome note that can be put in their Welcome Bag so they know that someone is thinking of and praying for them.
Bookmarks – In their welcome bags, clients receive a devotional book and Bible. You can make creative bookmarks for them to use in these books.

Mail any of these things to:
