in the church

When I feel far from the Lord, one of the things that helps me is:
listen to uplifting ministry while taking a nice ride in my car – it helps bring me right back around to Christ’s love for me!!

Biblical character, story, or passage that has particular meaning/significance:
Psalm 23 – as I lost both of my parents recently, within 1.5 years. I was extremely comforted by it and now am joyous in knowing that the light and love of Jesus Christ is forever with me, even through the toughest of times – the shadow that we sometimes find fear or agony in is there because of Christ’s light! Alleluia!

A couple of authors who have had an impact on my spiritual life:
My journey with Christ is somewhat new, having a close relationship that is, and reading the bible is what I primarily focus on right now, aside from a few reads and/or exercises with Tim Keller and CS Lewis

Some people who have inspired my spiritual life over the years:
My spiritual inspiration really just began around 6-7 years ago and, not in any certain order I hold each of these people dear to my heart and feel thankful to have had all of them propel me as I walk: Jim and Kim Thomas, Jack Christians, Jim Huskey, Scott Wilson, Kitty & Chris Parker, Glenda Hauser – Abundant Life Ministries, Terry & Analee Pinneger, Pax and Mandy Wiemers, Joyce Meyers, Joseph Prince, Jesse Duplantis, Joel Osteen, Betty Goad McCay, my siblings; Terry, Pat, and Debbie – as we all awaken to a wonderful new choice in our lives!

Something valuable that someone told me early on about walking with the Lord:
That the Lord knows me for everything, not one detail missing, better than myself - and despite this - loves me more than I can imagine.

Something I wish someone had told me sooner about walking with the Lord:
That I am forgiven, not because of what I can do, but because of what Christ did for me, and how important that is to receive His forgiveness.

I was drawn to serve in the “Let’s Have Coffee Ministry” because:
At the TVC women’s retreats I have so loved the fellowship and enjoyed getting to know the many women at TVC. I am so uplifted in being with and listening to the other women at TVC and getting to know their hearts. Listening to other’s needs, hopes, and dreams helps me to focus on helping others, and not myself. I think that it’s a nice way to give back some of the love I have been so fortunate to experience and receive in my walk with Christ.
