50s+ Group

Started in January 2014, the 50s+ Group meets every Sunday at 8:30 am in the Family Room. This Sunday school class provides TVCers in their fifties or beyond with a vehicle for spiritual growth and fellowship within their own age group. They’ve also been known to host the occasional potluck or other 50s+ Group activity. Get in touch with this group through This email address is being protected from spambots. Current Study: C.S. Lewis’ The Screwtape Letters

The 50s+ Group is currently focusing on the spiritual battle that rages as the enemy of our souls attempts to draw us away from God’s Kingdom by reading and discussing C.S. Lewis’ The Screwtape Letters. You may be familiar with it. Jim mentions it occasionally in his sermons, and it is one of the most creative and helpful explanations of spiritual warfare. Each chapter is a letter from a senior demon (Screwtape) to an apprentice (Wormwood). Lewis uses these characters to highlight the devil’s tactics and the spiritual weapons available to us in overcoming them. We read and discuss one chapter each week. Find the book on Amazon or at most bookstores. Join us Sundays at 8:30 am in the Family Room at TVC Main.
