Home Groups

If you are looking for community that goes beyond our Sunday Worship Services, joining a Home Group is one of the best ways to connect with our church body on a deeper level. Each group involves a time of fellowship, discussion and prayer, but that’s where the similarities end. They all have their own unique personalities, allowing you to find the group that is the best fit for you.
You read that right. At The Village Chapel, we believe in developing community that doesn’t feel “forced.” That means that we don’t assign you to a small group based on your zip code or the first letter of your last name. Instead, we offer nearly three dozen groups throughout the metro Nashville area and beyond that meet on different days of the week, and you to choose the group that is right for you. You may want to visit several groups to find that perfect fit or contact us and we can make suggestions. Questions? Contact [email protected]. {emailcloak=off}

Walkley Home Group

WalkleysWHERE: Melrose / 12 South

WHEN: Wednesdays from 7:00 pm to 8:30 pm

CURRENTLY STUDYING: Romans

We’re sorry, but this group is currently at capacity.

We have been in Nashville for almost 2 years, after moving from the DC area. Generally during our weekly group we dig into Scripture line by line, but love to throw in a good potluck taco/spaghetti night, too. We love theology, so at some point you’ll probably hear us use words like exegetical, salvific, Christocentric, inductive bible study, and onomatopoeia (ok, maybe not the last one during study, but weekends are fair game).

Come and join us in learning more about the Bible, how to read it more effectively, and become friends with some great folks along the way. We currently don’t offer childcare, but we do  provide coffee each week and *free* snuggles from our 9-pound Yorkie, Oso.

We are passionate about discussing our faith, life, love, purpose and the human condition. We have been married for 3 years and have been in Nashville for about 10. We don’t have any children so childcare won’t be provided but we do have 2 “dog children”, Jett and Jojo. They are a ton of fun and will definitely want to be your friends.

Perreault Home Group

WHEN: Wednesdays from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm

CURRENTLY STUDYING: TBD

We’ve been going to TVC for 5 years or so, after moving here almost 10 years ago. Nick’s a graphic designer, and Camille’s an artist / child whisperer. We’ve got 2 kids, so our group will be family-friendly, with a playroom for young’uns to enjoy. We’ll be meeting every Wednesday, with the 4th Wednesday of the month being a straight-up hang-out night. (What if there’s 5 Wednesdays?) We’re pretty low-key, so we’re hoping to build a casual but close-knit group, where we can learn about God, support and pray for each other, and basically just enjoy our time together.

This group will not shy away from the tough topics and we want to create an environment of complete honesty where everyone feels like they can share exactly where they are and what they are going through.  We don’t have all the answers, but we do like to ask questions.

Schroader Home Group

WHERE: Inglewood

WHEN: Wednesdays from 7:00 pm to 9:00 pm

CURRENTLY STUDYING: Knowing God by J.I. Packer

We’re sorry, but this group is currently at capacity.

When we first considered leading a group, we asked the Lord for a verse or passage that would serve as a guide. In response, He gave us Colossians 3:16.

“Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly, teaching and admonishing one another in all wisdom, singing psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, with thankfulness in your hearts to God.”

That pretty much sums up what we hope to be about: depth in the Word, mutual encouragement, and worshipful, grateful hearts.

We are Nashville natives who moved back to East Nashville a year ago after three years in Massachusetts while Marshall attended seminary. This group is geared toward 20- and 30-somethings, wherever they are in life. We know that the best way to foster deep Christian community is through drawing close to God as a group. We will meet every week (not every other week) to discuss the text covered in the previous week’s sermon (so no homework!). There will most likely be snacks involved, and of course we will have coffee.
