At this time, many of our ongoing groups are adapting their current format to meet online.

Started in January 2014, the 50s+ Group meets every Sunday at 8:30 am in the Family Room. This Sunday school class provides TVCers in their fifties or beyond with a vehicle for spiritual growth and fellowship within their own age group. They’ve also been known to host the occasional potluck or other 50s+ Group activity. Get in touch with this group through [email protected].
The 50s+ group meets Sundays at 8:30 AM for prayer and discussion, usually centered around books or video series. We have covered works by prominent Christians from the ancient church fathers through the reformation to the current time. We are currently watching and discussing a video series on the Old Testament by Dr. Sandra Richter. The group is continuing to meet by Zoom during this season of social distancing.
Our group has been well-served by choosing books with short chapters that can be read and discussed in one meeting. When each chapter stands on its own, newcomers and folks who have been away can return and and not be lost because of what they’ve missed. So our next book will be 131 Christians Everyone Should Know, from the editors of Christian History magazine, with a forward by J.I. Packer. It covers famous Christians from various walks of life: theologians, evangelists, preachers, musicians, artists, writers, denominational founders, political leaders, scientists and more. Each biography is just two to three pages long, and we won’t do all 131 chapters, as that would take the better part of three years! Instead we’ll focus on one chapter each week through the summer, then switch to something else in September.
You may be able to find the book at Logos or another local Christian bookstore, or purchase it from Amazon HERE.
